1. Introduction
This document will walk you through the steps required to get your computer successfully connected to the internet. These instructions assume that you only want to access the Internet via ABHost.us and that you are not connected to some other type of local area network (LAN). In other words, you use a stand-alone machine at home. While you can set up your computer to access multiple types of network providers, we will only address dialup connectivity to ABHost.us.2. Hardware Requirements
Here at ABHost.us we have 56K modems.
3. Software Requirements
Windows XP comes with all the networking software you need to get access to the internet. It comes with a Telnet and FTP client (Internet Explorer), both located in the windows directory. Once you have established a connection, you can then easily transfer (FTP) applications such as Netscape to your machine.
4. Configuring Dialup Networking
Windows XP comes with the Dialup Networking service enabled. We have not found a way to turn it off so there is no need for instructions on how to enable it.
5. Configuring Your Modem
This section is to verify that your computer has a modem correctly installed. Due to countless types of modems and that Windows XP is a new operating system we cannot provide instructions on how to install a modem or provide drivers for it. You will need to contact your computers manufacturer (i.e. Dell, Compaq) or the manufacturer of the modem.

- 5.01 Click on START and then Control Options.

- 5.02 Double click on Phone and Modem Options.
