In the past, we were told to use: mail.{mydomain.com}. Why does your documentation now tell us to use: mail.abhost.net?
mail.{mydomain.com} is an alias name for your mail server. It refers to mail.abhost.net, the name on the security certificate of the mail server. Either will work. mail.{mydomain.com} is less likely to change in the future, as it can be repointed to any new canonical name at our end. mail.abhost.net works better with mobile devices because mobile devices should be setup to securely access the Internet. By using mail.abhost.net you will not get a warning message when you securely connect the mail server.
Now that over fifty percent of all Internet traffic is to or from a mobile device we have changed our recommendation on how to configure your e-mail device or program.
