Please refer to the following information when using the Apple New Account setup wizard.

Full Name Enter your sender name as you would like it to appear in messages that you send. Example: John Doe.
Email Address Enter your full e-mail address. Example: johnd@example.com.
Password Your password was assigned by your mail administrator. If you are your domain's mail admin your password was assigned by A B Host.
Description Enter a name that your app will use for your account, such as Work, School, or A B Host.


Incoming mail server settings:

Account Type Choose: IMAP
Incoming Mail Server (host name) Enter: mail.abhost.net
User Name Enter your full email address.
Password Your password was assigned by your mail administrator.


Outgoing mail server settings:

Outgoing mail server (host name) Enter: mail.abhost.net
User Name (optional) Required by A B Host. Enter your full email address.
Password (optional) Required by A B Host. Your password was assigned by your mail administrator.


We strongly suggest that you manually review the settings created by the setup wizard, please see below.


If your Apple e-mail app asks you to enter e-mail settings manually, you may find the following information helpful. The 'name of each setting' is followed by the required setting or a description.

'Full Name'    Enter your sender name as you would like it to appear in messages that you send. Example: John Doe.
'Email Address'    Enter your full e-mail address. Example: johnd@example.com.

Incoming mail server settings:
'Account Type'    Choose: IMAP
'Description'    Enter a name that your app will use for your account, such as Work, School, or A B Host.
'Incoming Mail Server (host name)'    Enter: mail.abhost.net
'User Name'    Enter your full email address.
'Password'    Your password was assigned by your mail administrator. If you are your domain's mail admin your password was assigned by A B Host.
'Port'    Enter: 143
'Authentication'    Choose: Password
'Use SSL?'    Turn on
'IMAP Path Prefix'    Enter: /

Outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings:
'Outgoing mail server (SMTP)'    Enter: mail.abhost.net
'Port'    Enter: 587
'Use SSL?'    Turn on
'Authentication'    Choose: Password

If you continue to have problems then:

  • restart your iOS device
  • make sure that you are using the most up-to-date version of iOS
  • delete your account and then re-create your account
  • print this article and take it with you to the nearest Apple Store for help
